Do you see amazing art online and then stumble over what to say? My hubby had the same problem, so I came up with a cheat sheet of go-to awesome comments he could use.

Don’t let art jargon intimidate you any longer – start using these comments today and feel that warm glow of having said something worthy online using this list of 6 awesome comments you can leave on art posts (that you like).

There’s also a bonus list at the end with comments you can leave on art posts that you don’t like.

And don’t worry – all these comments have been field tested on ACTUAL artists. You can comment with complete confidence or your money back*

6 Awesome Comments You Can Leave On Art Posts You Love:

1. “Wow! ❤️”

bonus points if the heart colour matches the main colours of the art 💙💚💜

This one is short and sweet and to the point. The coloured hearts add that special touch which shows you really care.

2. “You paint real pretty!”

bonus points if you add 🥰

Every artist is flattered to know that you think what they made is pretty, even if it’s a horrifying fae that wants to steal your soul. It’s a fact.

Fact

3. “Are you … an Art Wizard?”

While technical mastery comes from time and practice, it’s always nice to think that someone out there thinks what you make is so amazing the only possible explanation for how you were able to do it is magic. Like you’re accusing them of cheating, but in a nice way.

4. “What Dark Powers did you trade with to get the SKILLZ to make that?”

Similar to number 3, this takes things a step further by suggesting that your skills are so unbelievably good that it would require a deal with the devil (or other terrible dark power) to be that good.

Maybe she gave you those powers…

5. “Looking at your art fills a void in my heart I didn’t know was there”

– bonus points if you add “Take my money!!!”

Knowing that something you created speaks to someone else’s soul is enormously fulfilling. The only thing that could possibly be more fulfilling is that they are willing to pay you hard cash for the privilege of getting to look at the thing you made. The number of exclamation marks you use is optional.

And lastly, perhaps the best most awesome comment of all that any artist would be delighted to receive…

6. “Can I buy this please?”

Like point 5, except this cuts straight to the chase (politely). There’s a great many things artists enjoy – compliments, flattery, and meaningful connection all have their place, but they need to eat too (and buy more paint supplies). So go on and buy that art. As my Dad once told me, “money spent on art is never wasted.”
