I’m so excited to share that we’re back with our mindful October Art Challenge: Mindfultober 2024!
I’ve teamed up with three amazing artists and fellow Skillshare Top Teachers Mel Rye, Ridhi Rajpal and Jutta Schneider to bring you this month-long art challenge to allow us to take a lovely collective and creative mindful pause at what can be a very busy time of year.
How Mindfultober 2024 works
- Post your artworks on Instagram based on the prompts throughout October using the hashtags #mindfultober and #mindfultober2024
- Save the below image and re-post it when you share your art (it can be the second image!)
- Let us know in your image caption how you found the process – reflect on how you felt, or how you approached the artwork mindfully
- Feel free to interpret the prompts however you like, using whatever medium you enjoy! The prompts are:
- Plan
- Symmetry
- Layer
- Aura
Mindfultober 2024 Prizes
For Mindfultober 2024 we are giving away 2 yearly Skillshare premium memberships, Jutta’s Procreate brush set, and a 60 min 1-on-1 draw-along call with Ridhi. The winner can choose to have an “Introduction to Zentangle” or a mixed media session. The winners will be chosen at random from all qualifying entries. Each prompt you share an artwork for gives you an entry into the draw, so the more you share, the more chances you have of winning! (Maximum 4 entries per person).
Low on creative mojo?
If you’d love to join in with Mindfultober but are feeling stuck or uninspired, both of us will be posting draw-along tutorials on our YouTube channels throughout the month, so feel free to join in that way!
Also, have a read at last year’s Mindfultober blogs, or an earlier post where I give five mindful watercolour activities, and if you need some convincing, have a read at why I think watercolour is great for relaxation.

October 2024 also happens to be the three year anniversary of when Mel and I both independently published classes on making mindful art! It’s definitely the season for it. Check them out for even more ideas:
