Description
A Giclée fine art print of Moredun Woods
Moredun Woods, Edinburgh, is an Ancient Woodland that was once called the Lands of Goodtrees (Gut-tres). It is nourished by the Burdiehouse Burn, which has it’s origins in the slopes of the most northern hill of the Pentlands, Caerketton Hill.
This massive old Moredun Wood tree with it’s roots partially exposed was spotted by my daughter and I as we walked through the woods one day.
Part of the five-piece “Edinburgh Dreamscapes” series, this painting was created digitally using traditional techniques. The series explores those special places within the city that seem untouched by human presence. Evoking a dreamlike, mystical atmosphere, this collection invites viewers into a fantastical vision of Edinburgh landscapes.
