Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show 2023

Date

I am excited to announce that I will be taking part in the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show 2023. Macmillan hold an art show each year to raise funds to allow them to continue their work supporting people living with cancer. It’s an honour to be chosen to exhibit some of my work alongside other local artists at this event and I’ll be donating 50% of the sale price of my pieces to Macmillan.

What’s being exhibited

There will be three of my favourite pieces available at the show, all inspired by fairy tales, mythology and my own imagination: ‘Awakening’, ‘Lavender’, and ‘Moon’.

I have had all three pieces thoughtfully mounted and framed with “True colour” glass. This glass is sometimes referred to as ‘Invisible’ or reflection-control glass as due to the way the special coating breaks the light, it looks like it’s almost not there. It also offers 45% UV protection.

There is actually glass in this photo, you just can’t see it!

Opening Times

Venue

The Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show 2023 will take place at the Cornerstone Centre, St John’s Church, EH2 4BJ (On the corner of Princes Street & Lothian Road),

St John’s has a rich historical background and the grounds are definitely worth a visit. If you happen to be in the area, please pop by and view the +300 pieces of art on display. Two of my pieces will be on display, and you can also enjoy the spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle. I’d be delighted to meet you there and answer any questions you may have.

You might not know…

I don’t usually sell originals, and I’ve never sold them mounted and framed before. You might be aware of my shop where I sell prints, but you’ll see that I don’t list originals for sale. I haven’t offered originals for sale before, and I don’t plan on doing it again any time soon. This is a unique opportunity to acquire originals with mounts and frames chosen by me.

About Macmillan

Founded in 1911, Macmillan are a well-established and long-running charity here in the UK. Their goal is to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer and they have helped my family in the past. It’s an honour to be able to give back to them.
